“ My family and I enjoyed dining here sooooooooo much The food was so so so good, trust me. The Assam fish could be devoured whole (except for the bones of course)! The calamari and chicken wings looked normal but they are so tasty…. Restaurant owner is also very accommodating to our requests and I love how they serve food with love You won’t regret coming here!! God Bless this family!! ”
“ Extremely happy with the food here! The food was so amazing and every dish such as brinjal, prawn, scallop and especially the baked fish were exceptional. The Garlic Butter scallop were so tasty that I ate two plates of rice! Fish was super fresh and it is worth the price. Ask the owner for recommendations and they will suggest to you too! The atmosphere was traditional and I feel at home. It feels so heartwarming to see the family gathering around and helping out with the business. They are not pushy with customers and are extremely polite and friendly! Please give this place a try!! ”
“ The food is very nice. Must try the fried brinjal, simple yet nice. The kailan with garlic sauce is very home cooked but nice. The curry chicken serving nice is big and nice too! Service is good! It is a must-come place if you want healthy and super nice Portuguese food in Melaka. ”
“ Traditional Portuguese restaurant style, nice home cooked foods worth to try if you visit Malacca. Best recommend dish: baked fish, butter garlic prawn & fried brinjal ”
“ This is such a beautiful vibe. Breezy. Next to the river and jetty. Very old skool. We had lunch. Be prepared for a lazy late lunch. We had the curry debal. Not as spicy as I thought it would be. But definitely a kick. Baked fish. The rempah tasted of laksa vibes. Fried Brinjal. The unexpected delight. Kaillan with garlic. And steam otah. Everything was really delish. Well worth the visit. ”
“ Fresh seafood, surprised by how soft the baked fish was. Enjoyed our meal and conversation with the owner. So glad that we had our first Portuguese meal with De Lisbon, definitely will be back for more when we have the chance to visit again. ”
“ Succinctly, we absolutely loved the food. We were in Melaka for 3 days & we stopped by this eatery twice - we tried their Chicken Debal Curry (ordered both times), Baked Fish, Deep Fried Brinjal, Stir-fried Okra, Deep-fried Squid, Chicken Wings & Soursop Juice. The owners are a sweet couple who were so kind & inviting. Along with the food, we also had a chat about the history of the place. The decor is pretty basic but we felt that added to the charm of the place. ”
“ De Lisbon Is an underrated GEM that ranks amongst the best Malacca has to offer and is a "Must-Visit" if you're ever in town. We ordered the Baked fish, the devil curry and the brinjal dish. To start, the baked fish was made with a flavorful topping that is akin to the gravy found in thick laksa. While I can't place the flavor accurately, the fish was fresh and incredibly tender. To add, it was HUGE and despite this, we couldn't stop ourselves from lapping it up. It may look red and threatening but it's not as spicy as the next dish, the devil curry. This curry as detailed by the owner was made with no milk or coconut but instead, centered on "rempah". Sadly though, for spice-lovers (if you want it spicy, do let the waiter know, unfortunately my co-diner was not built as strong as me), it wasn't as spicy as the name suggested but fortunately, it was still delicious. Lactose intolerant people can enjoy this one. The brinjal was delicious but incredibly salty so if that's not your thing, do give it a miss. Can't sing enough praises for the baked fish and we do appreciate that the owner was a very friendly host who took the time to chat with us and tell us more about the dishes they offered. We also have to add that the prices were incredibly reasonable. Thanks for the experience De Lisbon, we'll be back. ”
